Small, lightweight and durable with plenty of power to provide power for two Galaxy S phones, four Meshtastic radio nodes, a portable electric water filter, two headlamps and a GoPro battery, that is what the BigBlue Ultra-Light Portable 25W Solar Panel, paired with an Anker 20,000mAh 87W Power Bank, has easily been able to do for us in our backcountry adventures.

I got a smaller and lighter solar panel (BigBlue Ultra-Light Portable 25W Solar Panel) in 2025 that puts out 25W, is only 1.38"x4.65"x6.42" collapsed and weighs in at 0.84 lbs. Shown here is Biscuit overseeing the charging of one of our Meshtastic LoRa radio nodes with a GPS module on our 2025 Wind River backpacking trip. In 2026 after reviewing solar panels agian I purchased an additional one of these BigBlue Ultra-Light Portable 25W Solar Panels for Kaden and his adventures.

BigBlue solar panel

I used this BigBlue 28w solar panel for all my backpacking and hunting adventures in 2024, starting with our Golden Trout Wind River trip. I really like this solar panel, but it weighs 1.31 lbs. and is significantly larger to store in my pack than the BigBlue Ultra-Light Portable 25W Solar Panel, which weighs only 0.84 lbs.
